Keep it Coming

It’s time for another weekend here at Austin After Dark. I hope everyone is enjoying the additions to the website as many more are to come. It’s been very nice to see so many friends and people in the music industry so willing to jump on board. Since I started this site I’ve gotten good feedback but recently it seems to be more and more. Everyone’s good vibes keep me going and I’m proud to keep helping build the Austin music scene to the level it should be. Now on to the weekend picks.

Friday has the Eggmen playing the entire Abbey Road album at the Oasis. The Eggmen are the premier Beatles tribute band in Austin and if you like Abbey Road this is a must see. Club Deville has Erin Ivey & the Finest Kind with the Best Best Best Friends. Erin Ivey brings the term urban folk to life and with the Finest Kind the sound is unique and beautiful. Little Brave, Kinky Machine and Meggan Carney will be at Hole in the Wall. Little Brave dances between indie rock, pop and soul with a great sound the whole time. Nakia’s birthday bash with Lex Land is at the Saxon Pub. Nakia’s voice is powerful yet soft and he always seems to create a great mood at his shows.

Saturday begins early with the CD release of Big Don’s new record at Beso Cantina. Big Don is better known as MC Overlord, but his Children’s rap counterpart keeps the kiddos dancing and smiling. Skinny’s Ballroom has the Beat Dolls, The Blue Flames and Flametrick Subs. This a full lineup of rock from rockabilly to punk. Diesel & Dixie are at Headhunters with The Better Part of Valor. Diesel & Dixie fit in perfect at Headhunters with their raw rock and roll. And finally Grupo Fantasma has the first night of their live Album recording. Grupo has been touring around the world putting together a show that culminates for the recording.

And that wraps up another weekend in Austin, Texas. About Austin After Dark

Patrick Davis started Austin After Dark in 2010 with the belief that Austinites would support local musicians more if it was easier to find the shows and bands that appealed to them. Tired of the corporate state of anyone promoting Austin music he set out to do it himself. With the help of some savvy music fans around town Austin After Dark looks to open a fully functioning website and more in late 2011 View all posts by Austin After Dark
